As part of the NHL’s Hockey Battles Cancer month, Capitals remaining wing Jason Chimera and middle Brooks Laich participated in a Whizzes of Hope photo capture at Kettler Capitals Iceplex on March. 14. The Capitals taken care of 10 Flashes of Hope patients and their families for you to lunch as they watched the group practice from the balcony above the rink.
After practice the families participated in a hockey-themed Flashes of Desire photo shoot during which we were holding able to wear Capitals cycling tops,
gloves, shoulder pads, dance shoes pants and helmets. Chimera in addition to Laich then joined the capture,
posing for photos together with the patients and their families.
“It’azines great to be able to put laughs on the faces of these children,
” said Chimera. “We admire their own spirit and strength and we were happy to be a part of this specific photo shoot today.”
This October the Capitals are integrating with Flashes of Wish for Hockey Fights Cancer. California Capitals Charities donated $5,Thousand to the charity to fund this Washington, D.C., page for the 2011-12 season, and focused another $5,000 to Onset flashes of Hope from the NHL’ohydrates Hockey Fights Cancer account. Flashes of Hope may also be the beneficiary of the team’ersus jersey auction held on the Caps game against the Detroit Reddish colored Wings on Oct. 23.
Flashes of Hope is a not for profit organization that changes how children with cancer and other life threatening illnesses see themselves over the gift of photography and also raises money for child fluid warmers cancer research. Washington Richesse Charities has funded your Flashes of Hope page in Washington, D.Do., for the past two years.
Last year Chimera taken part in a Flashes of Expect photo shoot on the Hematology/Oncology Attention Unit at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
The Flashes of Trust portraits, taken by award-winning photography enthusiasts, help children feel better about his or her changing appearance by enjoying it. For families of crictally ill children, it's especially important undertake a portrait that preserves eternally the beauty, grace and pride of their child. The goal of Onset flashes of Hope is to photograph every child until each child is cured.
